Kelvin Smith Library Closed Again (11/18 – till?)

Kelvin Smith Library closed this afternoon after University Health Services learned that an individual whose symptoms indicate a likely COVID-19 infection was recently in the building.

In accordance with Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines, the library will receive comprehensive cleaning tomorrow; we will provide details regarding reopening as soon as they are available.

Please note that anyone who was in close contact with the individual (as determined by CDC guidelines and consultation with public health experts) will be notified and advised about next steps, including quarantine and testing.

As a reminder, we ask all members of the university community to continue to monitor for symptoms daily and complete the health attestation form online. If you have symptoms, even mild ones, do not come to campus—or, if already living on campus, do not leave your residence hall room. Please also call University Health Services at 216.368.2450.

Faculty, staff and students also must wear masks at all times on campus—except when alone in an office or other enclosed space. Please also maintain 6 feet of distance among one another, and regularly wash or sanitize your hands throughout the day.

Thank you for your efforts to keep our campus community healthy and safe.
